  1. United Nations’ World Refugee Day is observed annually on 20 June across the world to honour the strength and courage of refugees and pay tribute to them. The theme of World Refugee Day 2023 is “Hope away from home”.  
  2. Salman Rushdie, an Indian born British-American writer has been awarded the 2023 Peace Prize of the German Book Trade for his literary work and for his resolve and positive attitude in the face of constant threat to his life. 
  3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has collaborated with Grammy Award-winning Indian-American singer Falguni Shah for a special song ‘Abundance in Millets’ to promote the benefits of millets and their potential to alleviate world hunger.
  4. Kamal Kishore Chatiwal on 15 June 2023, took over as Managing Director of Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (IGL), the largest CNG distribution company of the country, operating City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks across 30 districts in four states including NCT of Delhi.

  15. In a significant initiative aimed at supporting and empowering ex-servicemen, the Ministry of Defence has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Company Ltd.  
  16. Renowned Telugu film choreographer S. Rama Rao, widely known as Rakesh Master, passed away on 18 June, 2023 at the age of 53.
